‘The Priest Of Blood’ Lures Readers into a New Breed of Horror

Layton, UT (PRWEB) September 23, 2005
Just in time for the scary season comes a new offering from horror novelist Douglas Clegg, author of “The Hour Before Dark” and “Nightmare House.” “The Priest of Blood” is the first novel of “The Vampyricon,” a dark trilogy that chronicles the journey of Aleric the Falconer and his reckoning with the swelling beast inside of him.
The bastard son of a whore who can communicate with the majestic Falcon, Aleric is banished to the Holy Land as a soldier to battle the Saracra infidels. But it isn’t until he surrenders to the passionate, bloody embrace of the creature Pythia that he finds his true calling as a vampyre.
While “The Priest Of Blood” isn’t slated for release until October 2005, the novel is already seeing extreme pre-order numbers, placing it at #1 on the Shockline.com pre-order list and #5 at Barnes and Noble. Douglas Clegg is excited about about his new series, “The Vampyricon,” citing it as more than just an epic horror saga.
“‘The Vampyricon’ is a saga of the one known as the Falconer, of an immortal Pythoness, and the way love both heals and destroys … and damns us. Aleric goes from the savagery and injustice of the human world to the hypersavagery and yet hyperbeauty of the world of vampyres, the denizens of the dark world. It is a violent, erotic, intensely disturbing story. But I love it. It’s epic fantasy and darkly horrific fiction, and it’s completely my reconstruction of the universe if I could do it as a wonderful nightmare…”
Clegg’s past writings have gained him much recognition by many renowned authors and have even achieved him the coveted Bram Stoker award for his masterful collection of short stories, “The Nightmare Chronicles.” Now, with a new trilogy emerging from the blackest depths of his mind, Douglas Clegg will certainly secure his reign in the annals of the masters of horror.
Pre-order information and access to exclusive downloadables from “The Priest Of Blood” are available at the official “Vampyricon” web site, including a two-minute video trailer, a horrifically wonderful screensaver and a sample excerpt from the novel at http://www.vampyricon.com.
